When we first meet many of our clients, they often come with horror stories from other agencies they’ve worked with over the years. You name it, we’ve heard it. Stories like:
- Every time we had them update something, random other things would break, so we were constantly playing a game of bug whack-a-mole.
- It would take days or weeks for them to finally call us back.
- We ended up working with salespeople and account managers who actually didn’t know anything about the technology the agency was working on—so it felt like a constant game of telephone.
- They charged us a ton, but their professionalism and communication dropped off as soon as they got our signature.
- It took them forever to complete anything. We’d have to keep checking back in with them over and over.
- They blew through a ton of our ad spend, and even though they were all enthusiastic in our check-in calls, I don’t think we ever made any money off the campaigns.
So, how is Emberly different?
Collaboration
We’ve worked hard to build an experience that doesn’t happen in a black box. We let our clients see the wet cement of the process, and we collaborate and make adjustments along the way. From our critically acclaimed wireframing process to our mid-stage development project updates to allowing early access for staging sites, we’re built around a collaborative approach that isn’t afraid to let you see how the sausage is made.
Deep technical experience, combined with a goal-oriented approach
Most agencies say they have a great development team—but ours is on the next level. Our engineers have built some of the biggest websites and software on the planet, and have fixed many complex issues even after multiple other development partners gave up and walked away.
One of our core values is “figure it the F out,” and that affects everything we do. We don’t consider it acceptable to just take a pass—we’re dedicated to finding a solution. At the same time, our development team stays rooted in another of our core values: “keep your eyes on the prize.” This means focusing on long-term goals and knowing where to implement minimum viable product versions, and where shortcuts are strategic versus dangerous.
This is all about having enough experience to have seen projects scale over time. A developer who has only worked on spec projects, or only a handful of projects, or only projects of a certain scale, will have difficulty understanding the cause and effect that can come from different database architecture decisions, or the requirements of different marketing situations. Our team has extremely low turnover, with engineers who have worked on hundreds of projects and stood the test of time.
Design, marketing, and development savvy
A working user experience or sales funnel requires all three of these disciplines to be effective. Most agencies specialize in only one of these areas, often resulting in myopic, shortsighted decisions that don’t reflect all the needs of a project.
We have team members dedicated to each of these areas—but they are also highly cross-functional, having collaborated together on enough projects to gain the experience necessary to think about solutions from a holistic perspective.
In-house, experienced team
Web agencies are notorious for turnover, and even more notorious for outsourcing and white-labeling. Many clients find that when working with an agency, they work with a highly skilled A-Team during onboarding, but end up stuck with a cheap, outsourced B-Team and forgotten by the A-Team as soon as they sign the contract.
Emberly is completely different. Our team members are 100% full-time, in-house specialists who have been with us for a long time.
At Emberly, we don’t just say we’re different. We’re happy to prove it. Get in touch with us today, and let’s have an honest conversation about how we can help.
